Barbados Revenue Authority Announcements

All persons who own places where events such as fêtes and shows will be staged, are reminded that it is compulsory to have a public entertainment licence from the Barbados Revenue Authority.

Proprietors are required to apply for a Place of Public Entertainment Licence and to renew this licence annually on or before January 31 of each year in order to host events at their locations.

All applicants for the Place of Public Entertainment Licence should register by downloading and completing this form and submitting to pubent@bra.gov.bb.

First-time applications should be accompanied by a certificate from the Chief Town Planner, a certificate from the Commissioner of Police and a certificate from the Chief Fire Officer. If a licence is being renewed, the applicant only needs to produce a certificate from the Chief Fire Officer.

It is an offence for any person to operate a place of public entertainment without the relevant licence. Contravention of this requirement may result in a fine of $5,000.00 or imprisonment for two years or both. Promoters are advised that they must not stage events at places that are not licensed.
