New Online Process for First-Time Vehicle Registration and Commercial Renewal

(Bridgetown, January 11, 2021) *UPDATED* Commencing Monday, January 11, 2021, the Barbados Revenue Authority will begin processing first-time vehicle registrations for private and commercial motor vehicles as well as registration renewals for commercial vehicles online.

Payments will be processed through the SurePay online payment platform bb.surepaybillsonline.com or SurePay's physical locations. The Authority is also looking to expand the payment facility options for this service in the near future.

Individuals, garages, vehcile retailers and agents making an application for vehicle registrations or renewals should complete and submit the Vehicle Registration form online at portal.bra.gov.bb. Persons may also apply for general licensing services such as weight certificatesinspections and regulation tests on the portal. Here is some key information to note:

  • Persons must enter a valid email address on the online form.
  • Persons must upload any specified supporting documents and identification e.g. drivers’ licence, Barbados identification card or passport (jpeg, png & PDF files accepted).
  • Pay using SurePay at bb.surepaybillsonline.com or at any Surepay location using the unique alphanumeric code provided upon submission of the online form. 
  • Official Government of Barbados receipts and documents are issued via the email address entered by applicants on their online form.

*NB* Payment transactions for the first-time registration of Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) will continue to be processed at the Warrens location.
