Avoid standing in line and visit portal.bra.gov.bb to submit your private & commercial vehicle registration applications online.
You can also apply for Visitor’s Permits and General Licensing services .e.g. (weight certificates, inspections & regulation tests, etc).
Make sure to enter a valid email address as you will receive your official receipt via email.
How to Pay?
Payments are facilitated using SurePay online or any Surepay location, using the unique alphanumeric code provided upon submission of your online vehicle registration application.
What Documents Do You Need?
The following documents (where applicable) will be required to be uploaded in your online application (jpeg, png or PDF formats):
- Weight Certificate (certificate of weight unladen of a vehicle)
- Valid Identification (ID Card, Driver’s Licence or Passport)
- Single Administrative Documents (if applicable)-(Customs Documents) with chassis, engine number, name of person who brought in the vehicle & Customs Paid Stamp.
- Insurance Certificate or Cover Note with at least seven (7) days validity stating type of registration i.e. commercial or private.
- Letter of Sale, dated and addressed to the Chief Licensing Officer, Barbados Licensing Authority, The Pine, St Michael. Letter of sale if from a Company, must come with their Letter head, Company’s Stamp and Position of the person in the company with their Name and Signature affixed at the bottom of the letter.
- Financial institution letter (if applicable)
- Sticker and Disc if the road tax on the number being used has not expired.
- Certificate of Inspection (if applicable)
- If registering as a Business, the Business Certificate, Application of Business and Valid ID of one of the owners.
- If registering as a Company, the Certificate of Incorporation and the Notice of Directors must be submitted along with Valid ID of letter (if applicable)
- Roadworthy certificate (if applicable)
- Special Licence (if applicable, dependent on weight of vehicle)
- Letter from the Insurance Company deeming the vehicle a total loss, if applicable.
*NB* Your gas tank should be full when you take your vehicle to be weighed at the the Licensing Authority's weigh bridge at their Pine, St. Michael location.
