BRA Hosts Jamaica for Tax Study Visit on Digital Tax Services
The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) last month hosted 11 tax administration representatives, mainly from Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), for a three-day peer-to-peer study visit focused on the implementation and enhancement of their digital tax services.
Held under the stewardship of the Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC) from September 15 to 17, 2026, the visit provided an important opportunity for Barbados to share practical experiences, identify areas for improvement and impart advice to Jamaica as they ready themselves for the roll-out of their new platform.
The sessions examined Barbados’ implementation experience for similar tax types and highlighted the wins, challenges and lessons learned. Discussions also covered ICT infrastructure and security, risk management and compliance requirements.
The BRA welcomes the opportunity to share its experiences while learning from regional counterparts as Caribbean tax administrations continue to strengthen their capacity to respond to the evolving digital economy.
