BRA Achieves ACCA Approved Employer Status
The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) is leading the way as the first public sector agency in Barbados officially recognised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as an Approved Employer.
Newly appointed Revenue Commissioner of the BRA, Jason King, in championing the designation, called it a “proud and significant milestone” for the Authority. He said it “affirms the BRA’s commitment to investing in its people, building professional excellence, and strengthening its capacity to deliver on its mandate with accountability and integrity”.
King stressed that the designation now better positions the Authority to attract, retain, and develop skilled professionals, while also supporting staff pursuing or maintaining ACCA membership, through streamlined continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
The ACCA Approved Employer programme is a global benchmark that acknowledges organisations which provide outstanding learning, development, and career support for accounting and finance professionals.
Business development manager with ACCA Caribbean, Charlotte Ramnath, said they were delighted to welcome the BRA into ACCA’s global network of Approved Employers. “This recognition reflects the BRA’s vision and commitment to developing finance professionals who contribute meaningfully to national progress,” she noted.
Ramnath shared that the BRA now joins a select group of organisations in the region and around the world recognised for aligning their people practices with international professional standards.
