Second-Half Income Tax Deadline Approaching for Employees and Pensioners

(Bridgetown, September 26, 2019) The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) is reminding employees and pensioners that the second-half of their Personal Income Tax (PIT) bill for 2018 must be paid by September 30, 2019.

Employees and pensioners with a 2018 income tax payable should have already paid the first-half earlier this year by May 31. Those persons who are yet to pay the required first-half, should ensure they pay the total amount by Monday’s deadline.

Taxpayers are advised to create their electronic payment advice in TAMIS before making payments. Payments may be made at all BRA locations except the Pine, until 3:30 p.m.

After the deadline, a penalty of 5 percent or $10, whichever is greater, as well as interest at the rate of 1 percent per month, will be added to the balance due.
