Value Added Tax on the Supply of Electricity
The Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment, during the Ministerial Statement on Energy and the Cost of Living on July 19, 2022, announced that, for a period, the rate of Value Added Tax (“VAT”) on supply of electricity would be reduced from 17.5% to 7.5% on the first 250-kilowatt hours used by households.
